How we got here

Behind Sondero

Behind Sondero

The story of how we met, why we built this, and what the name actually means.

Chris

Kail

Chris was running Al through every corner of his job. Kail was building his own agents as a freelancer. Both of us, in parallel, without knowing the other existed. Sveni had been Chris's colleague for two months, and Kail's partner for two years. For weeks she told each of us that the other was the same kind of person. "There's something here. You two have to make something together." Then the company hired Kail to redesign the website, and we started talking during the breaks. The day after Chris left his job, we met for what was supposed to be a coffee. We walked out as co- founders. We are a generation apart, with the same mindset. Both optimistic about Al, both convinced it is un foundation for the next generation of companies. We named it Sondero, after the word sonder: the realization that every stranger has a life as vivid and complete as your own. Inside every team, each person lives a fuller story than the org chart shows. We take the repetitive work off your best people and hand it to Al agents that run quietly in the background. The way Sondero looks came from Dee, Chris's wife. She created our logo, picked the greens, set the tone. The whole brand grew from her sketch before we had a company to put on top of it. We owe the foundation of this company to our better halves. Sveni gave us each other. Dee gave us the look. We did the rest.

Our point of view

What we believe

What we believe

Seven questions about how we think, what we are building, and who we are building it for.

What do you actually believe about AI?

We are optimistic. We do not think AI is going to replace your best people. We think it is going to multiply them. The repetitive work disappears. The judgment, the relationships, the strategic decisions get more room.

Why a boutique and not a SaaS product?

Because the AI agents that actually work are the ones built for your specific motion, your specific data, and your specific people. A SaaS product gives you a generic tool that ten thousand other companies are also using. A boutique installs something that works for your team and nobody else's. The trade-off is we work with fewer customers, and they get a better result.

Why Go-to-Market specifically?

Because we have spent two careers in it. Together we have built and broken pipeline, sales motions, customer success programs, and the systems around them. We know which AI agents would have actually helped us back then, and which would have been a distraction. We are building the ones that would have helped.

Who do you say no to?

Anyone looking for a generic AI tool, a 90-day overhaul, or a slide deck instead of an installed system. Sondero is a small team that takes on a small number of customers per quarter. We say yes when the fit is real. We say no the rest of the time, and we say it early.

Why are you focused on DACH?

Two reasons. First, we live here, we sell here, our network is here. Second, European companies have a different relationship with data, compliance, and the people side of work than US companies do. We think those constraints are an advantage, not a friction. We build with them, not around them.

Do you replace my team with AI

No. The agents we build join your team. They do the repetitive parts that nobody wants to do anyway. The people you hired stay, do more of the work that made you hire them in the first place, and stop spending their evenings copying data between tools.

You offer ongoing support?

Absolutely. We provide continuous advisory sessions and performance reviews to ensure strategies are successfully implemented and delivering results.
